New Membership Administration Portal

Last month I posted that we were trialling a new membership portal called membermojo.

The trial was judged to be successful, and we have therefore taken the decision to use membermojo going forward, primarily to replace the membership application/renewal function previously provided via British Cycling. If you are a paid up member of BC as well as NEV, your BC membership is unaffected by the change.

membermojo will now be used to collect member details and payment for all new joiners, and for membership renewals (with effect from when the current membership year comes to an end on 30 September 2023).

membermojo also provides us with additional capabilities, a key one being the ability to issue digital membership cards that include a photograph.

All paid up members will shortly receive an email that will provide a link to the NEV section of the membermojo website.

If you didn't do this last month, please take a few moments to check your personal information, update anything that’s incorrect, and provide any missing information. We don’t have phone numbers for a small number of members, and more than one in six of you don’t currently have any emergency contact details registered. The lack of emergency contact details means that we're unable to contact someone if you have a mishap on a club ride, or if we’re unable to make contact with you in the event that you don’t show for a ride that we’re expecting you at. (A key weakness of the arrangement with British Cycling was that we couldn't make it compulsory to provide these details, but with membermojo we can, so if you don't provide them now you'll have to do so at renewal).

If you'd like to create a digital membership card and haven't done so already, you simply need to upload a photo to membermojo. You can then either download the card as a PDF to store on your mobile device, print it out yourself, or just access it via the membermojo website when you need to.

We're also offering optional plastic membership cards through the club store on membermojo (https://membermojo.co.uk/northessexvelo/store). These are priced at £4, which covers the cost to the club of getting the card printed and posted to your home address.
